Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Admission Guide 2026-27

Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) is a public agricultural university in Dhaka. Its history goes back to the Bengal Agricultural Institute, established in 1938, and the institution became a university in 2001. Because it is located in the capital, SAU is one of the most searched agricultural university choices among Bangladesh science students.

What SAU offers

SAU''s central Dhaka location gives students access to a large academic and professional ecosystem while keeping agriculture at the centre of study. Its academic and research work covers agriculture, agricultural economics, agribusiness, horticulture, plant science, soil and environmental areas, fisheries and related disciplines. Program availability must be confirmed from the current prospectus because departments, seats and admission conditions can change.

Applicants who want careers in crop production, food systems, agricultural research, extension, development organisations, agribusiness or government service may find SAU a strong fit. Students should compare course content and practical facilities rather than choosing only by location.

Eligibility for the 2026-27 cycle

The final circular will confirm the accepted HSC group, SSC and HSC pass years, combined GPA, individual subject requirements and quota documentation. Agriculture-cluster admissions normally focus on science students who studied the required science subjects. A student should not assume that meeting a previous year''s GPA automatically guarantees eligibility for the next cycle.

The final notice will also explain the online form, fee payment method, photograph and signature requirements, admit-card download and test-centre rules. Apply through the official portal linked from SAU or the official cluster notice.

Preparation plan for SAU

• Build a chapter-by-chapter revision plan for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

• Use past agriculture admission questions to understand speed and question style.

• Practise English and general knowledge only to the extent required by the final prospectus.

• Keep a second-choice list of public agricultural universities.

• Check the official notice every few days when the expected admission season begins.
